summary
Neonatal subcutaneous fat necrosis is a benign disease, which occurs in newborns or early infants. It is characterized by painless nodules and plaques in subcutaneous fat tissue, which can subside spontaneously and has a good prognosis. How is neonatal subcutaneous fat necrosis caused?
How is neonatal subcutaneous fat necrosis caused?
Common symptoms: subcutaneous fat necrosis, single or multiple nodules, round or oval nodules, nodules and plaques before and after the full moon began to soften, completely subsided after a few months, nodules scattered in the distribution, skin lesions in the early stage of bright red or purplish red, subcutaneous deep in the limited nodules, single or multiple, round or oval, small can be as big as beans, large can be as big as eggs, scattered distribution. Later, it can be fused into plaque with clear boundary. Sometimes, the edge is slightly higher and there is no depression. Most of them have no conscious symptoms or systemic symptoms. Around the full moon, the nodules and plaques began to soften and absorb. After a few months, the nodules and plaques completely subsided and did not break during the process. Common in term delivery of healthy infants, within 1 to 6 weeks of onset. More common in the buttocks, thighs and cheeks, trunk and other places, sometimes upper limbs, vulva can also be involved.
According to the clinical manifestations, the patient is a newborn with skin damage. At the initial stage, it is bright red or purplish red subcutaneous deep localized nodules, single or multiple, round or oval, small ones can be as big as soybeans, large ones can be as big as eggs, scattered distribution. Combined with histopathology, the diagnosis can be made.
The etiology of this disease is usually related to cold. For the patients with mild subcutaneous fat necrosis, small range and no impact on the energy metabolism of the newborn, there is no need for special treatment, and they can absorb and subside by themselves. For severe skin fat necrosis should be given local baking lamp to promote the regression of necrotic adipose tissue, while strengthening the nutritional supply of children.
matters needing attention
The cause of this disease is still unclear, and it is believed that it is related to infection during pregnancy or too cold external environment. Fatty tissue is mainly saturated fatty acids, which can form induration in too cold season, thus affecting fat metabolism and causing subcutaneous fat necrosis. Therefore, we should strengthen nursing during pregnancy to reduce the risk of infection during pregnancy. If there is infection, we should actively use drugs that have no effect on the fetus for treatment. Milk should be opened as soon as possible after birth, generally within 30 minutes, which can promote the activity of fetal intestinal function and reduce the occurrence of fat necrosis.
