Primary vaginal malignancies are rare, accounting for about 1% of female genital malignancies. Most of them are squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, others such as sarcoma and malignant melanoma are more rare. Because secondary carcinoma of vagina is more common, the possibility of secondary carcinoma of vagina should be considered and ruled out before the diagnosis of primary tumor. How should vaginal cancer be treated correctly? Next, I'd like to share my views with you.

How should vaginal cancer be treated correctly?

First, radiotherapy is the first choice for some patients with early and most patients with advanced vaginal cancer. Intracavitary therapy is mainly aimed at the primary lesion of vagina and adjacent infiltration area, while external irradiation is mainly aimed at tumor, infiltration area around tumor and lymphatic drainage area. Intracavitary irradiation: the upper part of the vagina tumor can be given intracavitary radiotherapy according to cervical cancer.

Second, early patients with primary vaginal cancer can choose surgery. Local resection, partial or total vaginal resection and vaginoplasty are feasible for carcinoma in situ of vagina. Extensive hysterectomy, partial vaginal resection and pelvic lymphadenectomy are feasible for the early patients with low invasion of upper vaginal tumor. The vaginal margin should be 2-3cm below the cancer margin. Vaginal and vulvar resection and inguinal lymph node dissection are feasible for early lower vaginal lesions.

Third: chemotherapy alone is not effective for vaginal cancer, commonly used drugs are cisplatin (PDD), Pingyangmycin (BLM), Mitomycin (MMC), 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), ifosfamide (IFO), paclitaxel (PTX), etc. The combined chemotherapy regimens included PVB, PIB, TP, PDD + MMC, PDD + 5FU + CTX, etc. In addition to intravenous systemic administration, interventional chemotherapy is also used in clinic.

matters needing attention

1. In the early stage of suffering from vaginal cancer, it should be forbidden to eat some fishy products, such as mandarin fish, yellow croaker, hairtail, black fish, shrimp, crab and other aquatic products. These foods will contribute to damp heat. Eating these aquatic products at this time will aggravate vulvar pruritus and other symptoms, which is not conducive to the extinction of inflammation. 2. Taking part in sports activities can not only strengthen the body, but also take away the acidic substances in the body, which can prevent the occurrence of vaginal cancer.
