Symptoms of itchy skin in hepatitis C

Lichen planus: flat, polygonal papules on the skin. Dark red or purplish red, smooth surface, or mucosal needle tip papules, linear or reticular arrangement, which is likely to be lichen planus. About 37% of hepatitis C patients are in the unstable stage. The improvement of hepatitis C subsided and the aggravation of hepatitis C worsened.

Sjogren's syndrome: the mucus of all mucosal tissues in the body is reduced and dry, with dry inflammatory reaction or pruritus, which also reflects the activity of hepatitis C. Cold IMMUNOGLOBULINEMIA: hemorrhagic papules or necrotizing purpura appear after skin suffering from cold stimulation or standing for a long time and overwork of lower limbs. A few patients had joint pain.

Tardive cutaneous porphyria: bullous rash on the skin due to sunlight or trauma. There is erosion or scab after blister. In case of unexplained and continuous fatigue, nausea, dark complexion, decreased appetite, discomfort in right upper abdomen, abnormal transaminase, hepatosplenomegaly, leucopenia and thrombocytopenia, attention should be paid to hepatitis C. Although early hepatitis C often does not have typical symptoms, but some patients will appear often, especially when the disease is active. It is worth noting that because hepatitis B and alcoholic liver disease are quite common in China, once many people have symptoms or abnormal liver function, they first think that it is caused by hepatitis B or drinking, and ignore the factor of hepatitis C.

matters needing attention

In clinic, about 30-40% of patients with hepatitis C have normal blood test and B-ultrasound examination, but liver lesions can be found by liver biopsy. Liver histopathology examination is of great value in the diagnosis of hepatitis C, measurement of liver inflammation, liver fibrosis and evaluation of drug efficacy, but it is an invasive examination and has not been widely used in clinic.
